Chicago & North Western 11813 is a side dump car designed for carrying ballast and other aggregate. It has large air cylinders which tip the car body to one side or the other to dump out the contents. It was used by the C&NW in maintenance-of-way service.

COMPARE ME WITH: CSDX 39, a much older side dump car that was built for virtually identical service. The more modern C&NW car is of heavier construction and can carry 50% more weight.
