Interior - December 2009 - Frank Hicks (FrankHicks)
Description
:
The interior of the 319 is virtually unchanged since the last day of service, July 2, 1957. The walls and stained-glass windows were painted tan in the early 1950's, while at the same time the ceiling and clerestory windows were painted white. This car retained its ceiling-mounted light globes until the end, though. Compare the interior of this car to car 36, which was built 12 years earlier, and to the 309, which is more similar but saw significantly less modification in service. Photo by Frank Hicks.
