North Chicago - September 1956 - Frank Hicks (FrankHicks)

Description : Chicago & Milwaukee Electric 354, seen in September 1956 on the grounds of the Chicago Hardware Foundry in North Chicago, IL. CHF had acquired the car to scrap but owner Frank Sherwin had saved it instead, and a few years after this photo was taken ownership was transferred to IRM, then known as the Illinois Electric Railway Museum. The car acquired its green and red colors while part of the CHF "fleet" of railway cars, a fleet which also included North Shore "MD cars" and C&NW baggage cars.
