MI&L 6 - Galesburg, Illinois - Frank Hicks (FrankHicks)

Description : Photos of MI&L 6 are very rare. Written on the back of the print: "Macomb Industry & Littleton #6 at CB&Q roundhouse, Galesburg, Ill. Ex Vandalia VD2, Pittsburgh 1-84 #695. Ex-Vand. (StL Vand. & Terre H) #182, 4-4-0, 17x24, 66"." This engine was built for the St. Louis Vandalia & Terre Haute (the builder's plate in this photo, when zoomed in, does appear to read "V-D.2" so it may have been class D.2) as their #182. In 1899, it became Terre Haute & Logansport #302, and in 1905 it became Vandalia Railroad #302. The Pennsylvania Railroad classified it as a D-22. The MI&L purchased it in March 1915.
