Live Webcams

The Illinois Railway Museum has four permanent webcams overlooking train operations, a webcam overlooking our CTC display board which shows the position of trains on our demonstration railroad, and a seasonal webcam aboard the Happy Holiday Railway train.

The Spaulding Tower webcam faces East overlooking the station tracks and mainline. The Car Line/Barn 9 webcam faces North towards the Central Avenue Pavilion overlooking Yard 9 and the streetcar line. The Mainline webcam faces West overlooking Yard 2 and the station tracks. The Car Line Junction webcam is mainly used by the dispatcher to make sure the powered switch is clear before remotely operating it via CTC control board in Spaulding Tower. We have added a feed for that camera as well.

Your browser must be fairly recent, and Javascript is required and must be enabled. There are two frame rate settings to choose from, an 8-second refresh interval and a 2-second refresh interval. The 2-second refresh should only be used on broadband connections of 128kbps or faster. The default is 8s/f, but to view the higher frame rate just click the 2s/f link on the top right of the webcam page.
