1.17.00 - THIS IS THE CAR SHORTLY AFTER RESTORATION COMMENCED.  THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN BY PETER SCHMIDT IN 2000.  NOTE THAT THE END CUPOLA WINDOWS HAVE HAD STEEL PLATES WELDED INTO THE WINDOW FRAMES.  THE CAR CARRIES CGW AS ITS REPORTING MARK AND 10500 AS ITS NUMBER, WHICH WAS ASSIGNED BY THE CNW.

HOLES NEAR THE CONDUCTOR'S DESK WERE FROM WHERE THE AIRBRAKE CONTROL VALVE HAD BEEN MOVED TO WHEN THE CUPOLA WINDOWS WERE SEALED WITH STEEL PLATES.  NOTE THE SOOT ON THE WALLS AND CEILING FROM THE KEROSENE LAMP WHICH WAS USED TO LIGHT THE DESK AREA.
