The Illinois Railway Museum is soliciting donations for the exterior restoration and repainting of New Haven 300. This EF-4 type electric freight locomotive was built in 1956 and at various times during its career ran on the Virginian, Norfolk & Western, New York New Haven & Hartford (New Haven), Penn Central, and Conrail. Once it is restored it will be the only New Haven electric locomotive preserved as such and one of the only electric locomotives of its era preserved in the country.
