C&NW 6323A is a steam locomotive tender. It would originally have been semi-permanently coupled to a C&NW class H 4-8-4 steam engine and would carry water and coal to supply the engine itself. Its number, 6323A, was applied by an individual who owned it for a time and bequeathed it to IRM; it did not wear this number in railroad service.
