Illinois Terminal 1565 is a “Class B” electric locomotive built by the Illinois Traction System (later Illinois Terminal) in its Decatur shops in 1910. Though primarily intended for hauling freight trains, the IT had a large fleet of unpowered coaches, sleeping cars, and parlor cars, and locomotives like 1565 were often used for hauling passenger trains.
