Electric Work Equipment

Wisconsin Power & Light 109
Description: | Double-truck flat car |
Equipment Information
Wisconsin Power & Light 109 is a flat car used for utility duties. It was constructed in 1915 as a homebuilt “cab on flat” gravel car, basically a large wooden self-propelled gondola with a small cab in the center. It was rebuilt in the 1930s as a “steeplecab” locomotive with sloped hoods. Sometime after conversion of switching operations at the Edgewater Power Plant in Sheboygan to diesels in 1941, WP&L 109 was cut down to a simple unpowered flat car.
