Equipment Information

AMOX 9499 is a tank car built to carry 8,000 gallons of oil or other petroleum products. Its early history is uncertain but it is thought that the car was built for Pan-American Petroleum. It is an unusual example of a tank car with high-mounted running boards. It was restored by BP and donated to the museum.
