Equipment Information

AMOX 9499 is a tank car built to carry 8,000 gallons of oil or other petroleum products. Earlier in its career, the car was Root Petroleum (RUTX) 108 and Pan-American Southern (PASX) 108. It is an unusual example of a tank car with high-mounted running boards. It was restored by BP and donated to the museum.
