C&NW 262051 is a model DE-300 self-propelled diesel-electric crane, known as a “locomotive crane,” designed for utility use. Cranes like this were commonly used by railroads for track maintenance and other chores. This crane has a lifting capacity with 40 tons with outriggers deployed. It was donated to IRM by the Union Pacific in 2013.
