Equipment Information
Chicago Rapid Transit 1808 is a wood-bodied ‘L’ car built for the Northwestern Elevated Railroad, a predecessor to CRT. It was built as an unpowered trailer (identical to IRM’s car 1268) but in 1913 was rebuilt as a motorized car.
COMPARE ME WITH: Chicago Rapid Transit 1268, a practically identical car built on the same order as 1808 that was never rebuilt as a motor car and remained an unpowered trailer its entire career.
