Equipment Information
Chicago Surface Lines F305 is the only surviving snow plow from the Chicago streetcar system. It was built in the CSL shops in 1930 using the frame of an obsolete sprinkler car, a car designed to spray water on dirt streets to reduce dust. As a snow plow, CSL F305 cleared snow from the streetcar tracks and streets in Chicago into the 1950s.
