Description:Diesel-Electric FP-7A

Equipment Information

Milwaukee Road 104C is a passenger locomotive known as a “cab unit.” It was built as an FP-series locomotive, a variant of the “F-unit” freight locomotive that was designed to pull either freight or passenger trains. This was done by making the engine longer so that it could accommodate a boiler, needed to provide steam heat to passenger cars. It is the only FP-series locomotive preserved at IRM.
