Terra Cotta Industries 501 is a diesel switching locomotive used to move freight cars around the Terra Cotta manufacturing facility in Crystal Lake, Illinois. It has two diesel engines, or “prime movers,” one at each end of the locomotive. It was originally built during World War II for use by the U.S. Army.
