Museum Showcase Weekend is your opportunity to see and ride some of the less frequently run equipment at IRM as we honor the volunteers who make the museum work. There will be great photo opportunities too! Attractions planned during Showcase Weekend include operation of many less commonly seen items of diesel and electric equipment. On Saturday, equipment will operate into the late evening.
Brunch on the Train – Dine Aboard the Nebraska Zephyr

Saturday and Sunday, September 20th and 21st, start off your day at the museum with breakfast aboard the Nebraska Zephyr. Our 100% volunteer crew has crafted a menu that is sure to make your experience delightful. As with all meals aboard the Zephyr, the food is fully prepared and cooked aboard the train in the original kitchen of the dining car Ceres.
Breakfast will start with fresh donuts and muffins followed by a yogurt parfait with fresh blueberries and strawberries. The main course offers your choice of a Denver, vegetarian, or ham-and-cheese omelette served with potatoes, bacon, and silver-dollar pancakes followed by dessert. A selection of beverages are included.
Trips will be offered at 11:00am on Saturday and Sunday, September 20th and 21st, 2025. The cost per person is $75 (does not include Museum admission). Proceeds benefit maintenance and restoration work on the Nebraska Zephyr.
