Equipment Information

C&NW X250398 was built as a streamlined baggage/mail car for use on the City of Denver train between Chicago and Denver. Cars like this were mostly used for carrying passengers’ luggage, express freight, and other less-than-car-load (LCL) shipments. This car was retired from passenger service in 1953 and rebuilt in 1955 for use as a tool car and mobile workshop for crews maintaining the railroad.
