Equipment Information

Metra 308 is a passenger locomotive known as a “cab unit.” It was built for the Chicago & North Western as freight locomotive 4083C and was used in general freight service. In 1961 it was rebuilt for use pulling bi-level commuter trains in the Chicago area and renumbered C&NW 414. It ended its career hauling ballast trains for Metra.
