Description:MW Wood Box Car

Equipment Information

Soo Line 33096 is a standard boxcar built for general freight service over the Soo Line system in the upper Midwest. It is an early example of a “single-sheathed” car, built with its exposed structural members and only a single layer of siding. This series of car was known as a “saw tooth” car due to the appearance of the framing along the bottom of the car. Soo Line 33096 was later used in maintenance-of-way service, numbered X1632.
